Help shape suicide prevention in Oxfordshire

Date: 10 September 2019

You are not alone

Oxfordshire residents who have been affected by suicide are urged to give their feedback to help shape a suicide prevention strategy for the county.

Between 2016 and 2018 there were 155 deaths by suicide in Oxfordshire. Of these, 126 were men, which means that deaths of men outnumbered those of women by four to one.

In Oxfordshire there is a determination to reduce these numbers. The Oxfordshire Suicide Prevention Multi-Agency Group was formed in 2014 and brings together public, private and charity sector organisations, all of whom are committed to suicide prevention.

The group is about to revise its action plan and develop a strategy. It wants to hear from people in Oxfordshire who have been affected by suicide or who may have had suicidal thoughts themselves.

Please complete the survey on the Oxfordshire County Council website to help achieve our aims.
