MSK physio services will return to Wantage Community Hospital

During yesterday’s (7 February) Oxfordshire Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting, confirmation was received by Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group that MSK physiotherapy services will again be provided from Wantage Hospital. Given the local community's concern about this issue, the news was shared at the meeting, which is held in public, and well received. The timetable for the start of services and further details are still to be finalised and will be shared as soon as possible.

The Oxford Mail were in attendance and Oxfordshire CCG has issued the following statements today:

Diane Hedges, chief operating officer at OCCG, said: "We are very pleased to confirm that MSK physiotherapy services will be provided again at Wantage Hospital. We are working with Healthshare to get the service up and running as soon as possible so people in Wantage, Grove and surrounding areas can benefit from these services being available locally."

Neil Cook, Director of Healthshare, said “It was always our desire to be able to see patients in Wantage Hospital and we have worked hard to get to this point. We are very pleased space at Wantage Hospital will be provided and we hope to deliver services to Wantage and the surrounding areas in the near future.”
